We moved very little into the basement. We knew we'd have to move it or work around it as we finished the basement. So we only had the movers carry the bare essentials (and the heavy TV cabinet
) down the stairs. After we got the smaller freezer down and plugged in we realized this latest move had been too tough on it and R and K carried it back up the stairs! When the previous owners had this house moved onto this property they put it onto a new cellar thinking they would someday finish the basement. They roughed in the wall between the living space and the laundry and left the pipes for the various bathroom fixtures sticking up through the concrete floor. Our plan is to make two bedrooms, a bathroom and a bonus area (that we'll use as a school area). We'll finish the laundry room later.
