My Children

Every summer I like to take my children to the portrait studio for some group shots. This summer I never got that done. Friday was rumored to be one of the last nice days and we had a few minutes when everyone was home, so we threw on some white shirts and headed down to the lake. They may not be portrait studio quality but we had fun and I have some new pics for my wall!

South Dakota in the Fall

Crop Duster

Thank You B Family for your Hospitality!

We were treated to a yummy taco dinner with homemade tortillas! Afterward we enjoyed entertainment, a fashion show and a play! I had my camera with me and forgot to take pictures. Got one of our little boys chillin' out to some Veggie Tales! What you can't really see is the big boys spread out on the floor, they worked hard all day and were exhausted! We enjoyed the whole evening, but most of all the fellowship!

Pony rides

and a visit with friend T!

Then H, S, C and I headed out to the stable to visit Sadie.

On our way we saw corn stalk bales. We visited with all our old friends at the barn and met a few new ones. H and S lovingly groomed Sadie. C even helped a bit between cat and dog visits. H had grown tall enough and strong enough to saddle Sadie by herself!

More Scenes from the Project

K's Eagle Project

was a shelter along the bike trail in our former hometown in Minnesota. The crew, other Scouts, friends and church family showed up around nine am. They were hard at work when the younger children and I arrived around 10 am. Their job was to assemble the structure, remove a silt fence, clear a path around the pond and clean up the area. We checked on numbers and supplies and made a Walmart run and then picked up 14 pizzas! We ate lunch with the crew and took some photos!

The Power of Water

A couple of weeks ago we had a lot of rain in a short amount of time. Some roads were flooded. K made a trip East to our old home town for a meeting about his Eagle Project. When he arrived he called to tell me about the water he'd seen in fields full of hay bales. Join Me Outside
On his way home he was one of the last cars through before they closed sections of highway 14. We were headed back to our old home town this morning for the work day of K's Eagle Project and there was still a section of the road under water. And there were fields of hay bales that had been moved by the power of rushing, flooding water.

Will it be the last time they mow the lawn this fall?
