The color

is Citrus Tickle

and it is very bright and it makes me smile every time I see it.

Did I tell you

that the children painted the kitchen when we were in Iowa? I had bought the paint on one of our (many) trips to the home supply store, but it was farther down on the "To Do" list. The family friend that was staying overnight asked them, " do you know how to do that?" I recall when I was returning Gramma and Grampa A. to the airport, when we had first moved to Minnesota, coming home to a newly painted pantry and hall.

More bounty

from friend's garden. Think I'll make some refrigerator pickles.

A friend

raised this pumpkin and others that were bigger! He thought our family would enjoy this huge sign of fall. K and R weighed it, it tipped the scales at 110 pounds!

Tack Strips, Pad and CARPET!

The garage

is packed full of boxes and furniture that was in our basement, bonus room and the boys room. This weekend we will start to put it in the FINISHED* basement.

*We have not yet finished the ceiling, it will be a drop ceiling. We are waiting for time and expertise. . .

Thursday and Friday

South Dakota(and surrounding states) got lots of rain! This is the south end of our road, when I left Thursday afternoon it was not flooded, when I came home Thursday night it was flooded and I had to go around. Friday morning I headed out to take these pics.

Swept and ready for carpet!

Nearly Complete Bathroom

Full Harvest Moon

This was actually taken the night before the full moon. The night of the full moon was overcast and raining here. The full moon actually occurred the same night as the autumnal equinox this year, first time in 20 years!

Happy 44th Birthday R!

We had supper and chocolate frosted chocolate cupcakes to celebrate before R and the boys went to Scouts. Later he opened his gift, a backpack style decoy bag that will hold 24 mallards. The boys think we have 25, we'll squeeze that last one in. Once upon a time we did have a bag for those decoys, still have it in fact but it is so full of holes the decoys fall out as fast as you put them in. The rats in our old barn thought the mesh made wonderful nesting material, yuck! I think I caught R saying "cheese" in the photo, his mouth is open. I currently have a couple of goofballs when it comes to taking photos so it takes a few extra shots to get one where everyone is looking at the camera. . .Yes, H is wearing huge, gaudy, gold toned clip on earrings.
Something to think about: when Roger and I first started dating it was spring of 1985. In June of 1985 we had a birthday party for my Dad. When asked how old he was, my Dad would always say 39. That year for his birthday we got him a green t-shirt that said 44 on the back because he was 44. R is the same age as my Dad was when we first started dating. Ponder that for a while. . .
