1850's Pioneer Site
We were at Farmamerica on a school tour day. Our family was group I, we were paired with group H a small Lutheran school from Courtland for most of the day. Our first stop was the hovel at the 1850's Pioneer site. The interpreter told us about breaking the 12 inch thick prairie sod for planting crops and using that sod on the roof of the house. He told about planting, harvesting and processing wheat.
