Our plan was to pick strawberries, but the weather foiled our plans, strawberry season was cut short by the storms the prior weekend. Our strawberry picking outing was about way more than berries though, so we decided to pick whatever was in season! The berry farmer patiently explained and showed us how to know and pick a ripe raspberry. Then he assigned us our row and we began to pick. Raspberries do not fill up the basket nearly as quickly as strawberries do. They are a little harder to find and then there is the matter of the thorns. . .but our pickers worked diligently and we soon had lots of sweet raspberries to take home!
